Samsung's Galaxy S8 may have already been delayed

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 scandal is already having repercussions for the company financially, but it’s also now set to impact upcoming phones such as the Galaxy S8, which is now expected to be delayed.
The Wall Street Journal reports that a member of the Galaxy S8 development team has stated to expect the phone to be delayed by two weeks as “engineers work to get to the bottom of the Note 7’s overheating problem”.
Samsung clearly wants to make sure the problem is solved before it creates a new phone in a currently unaffected line.

Predictable delays

That is likely to have an effect on when the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Edge are released, but whether it will push back the announcement is currently unclear.
We had expected the Galaxy S8 announcement to come right before Mobile World Congress 2017, which runs from February 27 next year.

Samsung has already been hit hard by the Galaxy Note 7 – one report suggests it’s set to cost the company a whole $1 billion – so it won't want the problem to spread to its flagship line as well.
